ELI IANNUCCI
PORT LINCOLN S.A.
Eli’s musical apprenticeship began as a harmonica player while treading the boards of Adelaide’s early 1990s music circuit. His wish to become a solo performer began soon-after following his arrival in London where he purchased the guitar which he used as a main tool for busking during a year of travel through Europe.
On his return to Australia, Eli became a part of South Australia’s west coast music scene based in Port Lincoln. It was there that he began to gain popularity with audiences through his collaborations with a variety of local and visiting artists. Initially he was known as “the harp player dude” but after years of diligent practice and desire he eventually stepped onto the stage in his own right, performing his own brand of covers while slowly compiling a list of originals.
With songs written from his experience of life and observations of the world around him, he is beginning to find a niche within the more intimate café and house concert style venues. Some of his influences are Patty Griffin, Gillian Welch, Tom Waits, Michelle Shocked, Violent Femmes, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, Lucinda Williams, The Waifs, Paul Kelly and Ian Moss.
Eli has been described as a soulful balladeer with a voice that carries the depth of Neil Diamond, the warmth of James Taylor and the quirks of Rodriguez.
